Homemade Refried Beans

Ze-Ra and I are refried bean junkies.  I think the two of us could sit down and just eat refried beans and be happy, and Wolverine just doesn't understand it. :)

You try these beans and see what you think - could you eat an entire bowl? :)

Mexican Beans

What's In It:
1lb dry pinto beans
1 lrg onion, diced
1 T garlic salt
1 T chili powder

What To Do With It:
Soak beans over night in crockpot, cover with at least 2" water.

In the morning, drain and rinse beans.  Remove any odd looking beans if necessary.  Return beans to crock pot, add onion and seasonings.  Cover with at least 1" water.

Cook on low at least 8 hours, checking occasionally that the beans are still covered in water.

Refried Beans
What's In It:
1/2 Mexican bean recipe
1/2 t poultry seasoning
1/2 t adobo seasoning
1/2 t cumin
1 t chili powder
3 oz shredded cheddar cheese

What To Do With It:
Add beans and seasonings to blender, blend until desired consistency is reached - using as much of the bean cooking liquid as necessary.

Remove from blender, mix in grated cheese, and keep warm until ready to serve.
